If you lost your job between September 1, 2008 and December 31, 2009 due to involuntary termination you and your family may qualify for a COBRA subsidy of 65% to help you keep your health benefits. You would be responsible for 35% of the monthly health benefit cost. The full subsidy is available for individuals with a modified adjusted gross income of up to $125,000 a year or $250,000 a year for joint filers. A reduced subsidy is available for those with incomes between $125,000 and $145,000 ($250,000 and $290,000 for joint filers).
