  COBRA Subsidy Minimize

If you lost your job between September 1, 2008 and December 31, 2009 due to involuntary termination you and your family may qualify for a COBRA subsidy of 65% to help you keep your health benefits. You would be responsible for 35% of the monthly health benefit cost.  The full subsidy is available for individuals with a modified adjusted gross income of up to $125,000 a year or $250,000 a year for joint filers. A reduced subsidy is available for those with incomes between $125,000 and $145,000 ($250,000 and $290,000 for joint filers).   Hard Times Hotline Minimize

The Hard Times Hotline is a Partnership between Camden County Office of Constituent Services and United Way of Camden County. The Hotline helps people impacted by the collapse of the banking and credit system in September 2008. If you need help, especially with the following areas of concern:

  Practical Information for Immediate Needs Minimize

If you are having trouble paying your mortgage and are afraid you will loose your house because you can’t make the full mortgage payment the State of New Jersey has set up a special program to help. The program is free. The New Jersey Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation Program works with mediators that assist a lender and a borrower to reach a voluntary and mutual agreement to resolve a mortgage loan delinquency. To be eligible for assistance you need to meet the following conditions:

  • You must be the owner occupant of a one to three family home.
  • The property must be your primary residence.
  • You are the borrower and your mortgage loan is being foreclosed.You are not in bankruptcy, or, if you are in bankruptcy, the petition is discharged, dismissed, or the bankruptcy stay is lifted to allow foreclosure to proceed.
