  About UOSS Minimize

Working For You Since 1944

UOSS was founded June 12, 1944 in Camden City by a group of volunteers from organized labor concerned that City residents were unable to find services to help them when in need. Armed with a phone book and index cards, what started as a fledgling program to connect the community to services that can help, has become a state of the art effort to get people connected to hundreds of federal, state, county, and United Way funded programs throughout the Region. And UOSS has gone beyond providing Information and Referral. By 2008 UOSS was involved in building ramps for Senior citizens in Camden County, organizing volunteer opportunities for individuals and corporations, providing training programs for women and minorities seeking careers in the building trades, and providing support to the Labor Community when lay-offs result from plant closings or shut-downs. UOSS and Organized Labor working for you since 1944.
